Julie
I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. Stress is an awful disease in itself without the added combination of RA. My Husband suffers from severe stress and anxiety so I can see the effects it can have on you. I thought I did not suffer from stress but my Consultant has said my RA could have been brought on by the stress of dealing with my Husband's stress.
I started on Humira 4 weeks ago and I had to stay on the phone and jump up and down with both my RA team and the home delivery service to get it delivered. Someone had not done their job and they were blaming each other. I believe that once you are approved, your RA team has to get their hospital pharmacy to send a prescription to the home delivery service. The pharmacy had not done their job in my case.
Roll on the school holidays and I hope you are able to enjoy your long rest.
Take care
Jackie xx

Got my job application in this week and done my manager's assessment for the girl I manage so big relief that everything done before I go on leave.
I've just phoned hospital as still no news about Humira - nurse says she is checking my records and will call Healthcare at Home and will phone me back. I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get a call - let's see.

I can't believe how long this is going on Julie! I'm sure if Healthcare at home had been contacted you would have had the humira by now, they are a very efficient firm, which is something your rheumy staff don't appear to be! Hope you hear from them soon and glad you've got things up to date at work.
Love, Doreen xx

Hi Julie
It must be a relief to get all you bits done at work, and can relax and look forward to the break.
It is extremely poor about the Humira, heads should really roll on this one, this is not acceptable practice

Crikey - got a call at 5 to 5. Nurse says I should get a letter from Healthcare at Home 'any day now'. I told her I thought the first letter came from them and she just said 'yes - you'll get that any day now as well'. I wanted to jump up and down and complain and ask why it's taken so long as I feel like I'm dropping to bits again but at the end of the day - this is the nurse who will be looking after me whilst on Humira so though it better to keep schtum this time. Sounds to me it's a similar situation to Jackie's.

Hi Julie,
Yes, I know what you mean! You have to keep "in" with the nurse but at the same time you want to scream at her. Let's hope things do get going now, with no more delays.

What a surprise - got my letter from the hospital this morning explaining what happens now. Just got to wait for the call from Health Care at Home now. Can't believe I might be getting there.

That is really good news. I took Enbrel by injection pen before I moved over to Humira. With the Enbrel I found it really difficult to inject as the pen seemed very stiff and I was injecting into my thigh. With the Humira I inject into my tummy (more fat for one reason) and there is no pain at all. In fact the first time I did it I thought I had not done it right it was so easy. I am assured I did.
I hope everything goes well for you.
Take care
Jackie

Hi Julie That's terrible they have kept you waiting so long for the humira Im pinning alot of hope on getting mine before we return back to school in sepember as been really struggling and as to help been telling everyone that i will (hopefully) be alot better on my return!! I hate stress and it's definatly my worst enemy! but how can you stop that feeling inside ,when you know it's going to be bad for you, all the suggestions to deal with it don't seem to work or they do for a bit but soon come flooding back, I wish I had the answer Hope you get your humira soon and it takes effect a.s.a.p T.C love corinne xx

I have started to chill out since the start of the holidays thank goodness. Trying to forget about the work stuff as there's nothing I can do about it. Am fed up about the Humira thing though. When I found out it's being delivered tomorrow, I called the number the hospital gave me in their letter to arrange to go into the day case ward for a teaching session and first injection. When I called it - I was dumbfounded - yet another answering machine!!!!!!:( I left my details yesterday morning and haven't had a call back yet. I know nurse time is premium and NHS are cutting costs but why can't they ever have real people answering phones. It's so frustrating as I need to have an idea when I'm going as am hoping to get away on hol in the next couple of weeks and will also have to arrange childcare for Jim for the day. Depo well and truly worn off and am hardly sleeping again - poss why I'm so cranky. 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

Hi Julie,
Are you getting the humira from Healthcare at Home? If so, when you have had the delivery they will ring you and arrange for a nurse to come to your home for the teaching session.
